# Dynamics AX 2012 R3 Support Continued Until 2023

## We are pleased to share that Microsoft has announced the extension of mainstream and extended support for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 until 01/10/2023.
Mainstream support in the past has been only for the first five years after the go to market release date; however, that date has been pushed back for Dynamics AX 2012 R3 in order to provide Microsoft Dynamics AX customers with more flexibility. This leeway allows you to choose the best timing for your business to upgrade to the next major release of Microsoft Dynamics AX.
The mainstream support expiration date will be extended to October 12, 2021, and the extended support expiration date will be extended to January 10, 2023.
