Dynamics AX Developer Tools Included In The New Dynamics AX
If you are a Dynamics AX developer, the new Dynamics AX formerly known as AX7 (and is also referred to as operations in Dynamics 365) will impress your Managing Director of IT. The software includes two new details one for the sandbox environment and one for Power BI.

Power BI
The application allows for 2 managed sandboxes tiers for the life of the tenant. Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 included sandboxes for AX but they were not managed, and they were not included in the price of the software.
To further the software’s offering, Power BI will be included for all subscription license types after update 2.

Default Sandbox Tier 1
One Sandbox Tier 1: Developer Instance is provided for the life of the tenant. Additional Developer Instances can be purchased separately as an optional add-on. This is a non-production single box instance that customers can use to customize Microsoft Dynamics AX and unit test their changes. The Non-Production Developer Instance Add-On license does not include any incremental default storage capacity.
Default Sandbox Tier 2
One Sandbox Tier 2: Standard Acceptance Testing Instance is provided for the life of the tenant. Additional Standard Acceptance Testing Instances can be purchased separately as an optional add-on. This is a non-production multi-box instance that customers can use for User Acceptance Testing, integration testing, and training. The Non-Production Standard Acceptance Testing Instance includes 10 GB of default storage at no additional charge.
Power BI
With Platform Update 1, the Enterprise SL will include the Power BI Pro license which provides this user access to PowerBI.com and the ability to mash up data from multiple data sources in addition to Microsoft Dynamics AX.
In addition, with the release of platform update 2, all subscription license types will include the Power BI Embedded license. This will allow all users access to the BI reports embedded within the Microsoft Dynamics AX application.
