Microsoft’s Bridge to The Cloud Promotion for Dynamics AX to Dynamics 365

Dynamics 365 upgrade from Dynamics AX Promo

Details of  Microsoft’s Bridge to The Cloud Promotion 2023 for Dynamics AX to Finance and Supply Chain

Microsoft’s Bridge to the Cloud promotion offers discounted licenses and a managed multi-year process allowing your organization to migrate from on-premise to a cloud-based deployment of Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain.  The promotion includes discounted license fees for on-premise Dynamics GP, NAV, or AX customers current on the annual enhancement plan (EP).

With the Bridge to Cloud subscription, customers can purchase licenses equal to or greater than their annual EP and receive promotional pricing 40% lower than the standard commercial list price. This pricing is for 36 months.

Pricing and Licensing Details for Microsoft’s Bridge to The Cloud

Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain offers five user types: Full Users, Activity, Team Members, Device, and Attach licenses. The Attach license is priced at a reduced rate if the user needs access to other parts of the system. When you license Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, you receive all the modules included, providing every end-user with additional functionality if it is needed now or in the future.

Dynamics AX vs. Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain

This pricing is for the SaaS model, which is deployed and supported in the Microsoft Cloud and is currently at $108 vs $180.  Keep in mind that Microsoft prices can change at any time, and taxes, if applicable, are not included. Additionally, a twenty-full-user subscription minimum is required to begin the project, per Microsoft policies. Upgrades to on-premise cost nothing for the licenses, but the server infrastructure is a big investment and requires an IT team to manage.

Development environments are attached via Azure as Virtual Machines, one per developer, and Azure storage are needed. The costs can vary and are dependent on current Azure pricing, which is currently around $600 per month per instance.  Prior to go-live, an additional “golden” or standard acceptance environment is needed which runs about $1,600 per month depending on the size of your company.  Contact Clients First to get pricing on the other user types.

Dynamics 365 Subscription: What's Included?

Microsoft's Dynamics 365 subscription is hosted on the Microsoft Cloud and includes the following:

Infrastructure

One of the key benefits of the Dynamics 365 subscription is the infrastructure that comes with it. This includes storage and database capacity management, high availability and disaster recovery, platform security, infrastructure capacity, scale-up and down, infrastructure management and deployment, data center networking, power, and cooling. With this infrastructure in place, organizations can focus on their core business operations, knowing that Microsoft manages and protects their critical data.

Default Production Instance

The Dynamics 365 subscription includes a default production instance that comes with 10 GB of Dataverse database storage. Additional storage is granted at no charge with the increase of full system users at the rate of 250 MB per user. This default production instance is designed to help organizations get up and running quickly with minimal setup time.

Default Dataverse File Storage Capacity

Each Dynamics 365 for Finance and/or client will receive 20 GB of Dataverse Cloud storage. This storage is used to store attachments to notes or emails, which may include documents, image files, videos, PDF files, and other crucial files. Additional storage is granted at no charge with the increase of full system users at the rate of 2 GB per user.

File Capacity

The Dynamics 365 subscription also includes operations file capacity, which is used to store attachments to notes or emails. This file capacity is for applicable products (specified in the table above) that have storage requirements outside of Dataverse for Apps. File capacity is 40 GB with 4 GB accrued per user license.

Default Non-Production Instance Capacity

The Dynamics 365 subscription comes with a default non-production instance capacity that includes a sandbox Tier 2 for standard acceptance testing (and training) with 10GB of default storage. Current pricing is $1,620 if an additional Sandbox Tier 2 is needed. Development environments are attached via Azure as virtual machines, one per developer. This will be needed during any development and is common for all clients. These costs can vary and are dependent on current Azure pricing, which is currently around $600 per month per instance. These are temporary costs.

FREE: AI Builder 20K credits/tenant/month

Another significant benefit of the Dynamics 365 subscription is the AI Builder, which offers 20K credits/tenant/month. This tool allows organizations to simplify tasks using AI models such as prediction, form processing, object detection, category classification, and entity extraction using a simple, intuitive interface. The AI Builder includes prebuilt AI scenarios such as key phrase extraction, language detection, sentiment analysis, text recognition (OCR), business card reader, entity extraction, receipt processing (preview), and category classification (preview).

FREE: Electronic Invoicing

When you license Dynamics 365 Finance, you automatically become entitled to 100 electronic invoice transactions/tenant/month. Electronic invoicing is the process of creating, presenting, and exchanging structured, transactional invoice documents between businesses and governments for tax reporting purposes or trading partners in an integrated electronic format.

Conclusion

The Dynamics 365 subscription provides organizations with a suite of cloud-based business applications and infrastructure that can help streamline their operations and improve productivity. With features such as the AI Builder and electronic invoicing, organizations can take advantage of cutting-edge technology to stay ahead of the competition.
